please disregard the previous post. since i wrote that, the plan has changed 3 or 4 times. now they say that we won't be leaving before the 21st. i'd better not write any more, since all of my information is unreliable.
Ben...Keep updating us even if it keeps changing. One of these times the dates will be correct. Each day is one day closer to your coming home. Grandma Joyce
Hey Ben, I am so glad you are coming home even if the dates change, you will be here soon. I'll tell Kim to fire up th stove and make you whatever you have been craving.
You have certainly done more than your share of communicating and I am sorry I haven't written for a while. I think of you everyday.
Jenny and I went to a weekend class in Minneapolis last Friday, Saturday, and Sunday to learn basic massage. It was a small group,4 people, so we got a lot of individual attention not to mention a lot of massages. I finished up work for the summer on Tuesday the 14th although I am still working on a PR project through email.
You missed the big dig here yesterday. We hired a contractor to dig up the corner of the basement that leaks and repair it. He said it had been worked on before, likely when the addition was built. Anyway, they dug about 4 feet out from the foundation wall , put in new drain tile, put on a waterproof membrane and backfilled it with gravel, sand and clay/dirt. Kim's garden is gone although she had given away or transplanted a great deal of what was there.
We have to let it settle, drop some topsoil and smooth that out and seed it. It is not pretty right now. Hopefully now I can relax and enjoy a rainstorm instead of worrying how much will come through the wall.
Annie is going to a residential band camp at UMD on Sunday. She will stay in the dorms for a week. She is very excited and so are we!!
Kim and Annie are helping Kathy and Matt put their new house together. They bought a house in Woodland in May and are getting ready to move in soon. Their house in Silica is most likely sold, they are in the final negotiations. We are glad to have them closer and I think they will enjoy city living as well.
When you come back, what are your responsibilities as far as reporting to the base? Do you get a little leave time? Hope so.
I am very proud of the way you have handled yourself through this difficult time. You are very good at taking care of yourself and those skills and abilities will serve you well always.
Well dear one, that's all the news from Cambridge St. where the flowers are pretty and the people are happy and gay.
